Presenter's Biography:

Charles is a practising barrister with substantial experience in criminal law, including jury trials and appellate advocacy. His practice includes white-collar crime and cases involving the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). He has served as Deputy District Judge on various occasions and is currently a member of the Bar Council and several of its Standing Committees. He also serves on a number of statutory appeal boards, contributing to the development and oversight of legal and regulatory matters in Hong Kong.
 
Objective:

This course aims to offer practitioners a thoughtful and structured overview of legal professional privilege as it applies in Hong Kong. Through discussion of key legal principles, case authorities, and practical scenarios, participants will be encouraged to reflect on how privilege operates in both litigation and non-litigation settings. The session also considers emerging challenges and provides guidance on maintaining privilege in day-to-day practice.
