He is a barrister-at-law of the Inner Temple. He specialises in teaching conveyancing, civil litigation and professional ethics and has published books in these areas, including the seminal publications "Hong Kong Conveyancing Law and Practice" and "Cases and Materials" in 9 volumes together with the student version (now in its fifth edition), Professional Conduct of Lawyers in Hong Kong in three loose-leaf volumes, and "A Guide to Civil Procedure in Hong Kong", 3rd Edition. He is also the University's Public Orator. Michael has taught Conveyancing on the OLQE courses since their inception.
